While traveling along a particularly dangerous mountain path, they heard strange rumbling from the river below them. With a  swoosh of a Dragons tail , their horse was knocked into the water. Fearless Monkey jumped into the river and bashed the Dragon over the head, because he loved a good fight, but it was too late, the horse had been eaten. The Dragon too had been told by Guan Yin that Tripitaka would be along and would need some help. Feeling terribly guilty about what he had just done, the Dragon, called Yu Lung, transformed himself into a beautiful white horse for the master to ride and they set off once again.
